The Question That Changed Everything
Why not you? This is the question I often pose to the beautiful & inspiring women I get to work with. One thing I’ve noticed we as women so often struggle with, is to believe that we are worthy of the life we are longing for. So often we spend time asking the wrong questions — Why me? Who am I to to be successful? Who do I think I am for going after (fill in the blank with that scary dream of yours)? Who am I to rock this sequin jumpsuit? Who am I to think I deserve a raise? Who am I to challenge the status quo? Who am I to run my own business?
The list is endless but, I think Marianne Williamson said it best when she said:⠀
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world.”⠀
A JOURNALING PROMPT TO HELP YOU DIG DEEPER:
What areas in your life are you letting the question of “Why Me” run the show?
Can you shift from “Why me” to “Why not me?” If you did, what would be possible that seems impossible now?
3. Can you identify any stories you have about who you’re allowed to be? What areas in your life are you still looking for permission?
After you journal through these prompts, hop on over to Instagram & share with me your favorite “ah-ha moment”! I can’t wait to connect with you more!
